5. Sandbag Step-Overs:
What is the difference between the bike erg and run versions?
In the Virtus Series, participants choose either to do all the pursuits on a bike erg or by running. Competitors for the bike erg are only competing against others who are also on the bike erg, not against the runners and vice versa.
How is the teams structured for pairs?
The pairs event operates on a "you go, I go" relay system. Teams are provided with a relay baton fitted with an RFID chip. Only one teammate is allowed to work at any given time, while the other waits at the designated transition point. The choice of when to switch during functional movement stations rests solely with the team. For running segments, since one loop is 250m, teams can opt to switch at any of the 250m intervals throughout the 1km run. For teams opting to compete in the riding category, much like the functional movement stations, changes on the bike erg can take place at any stage.
How is the age category determined for pairs?
A team's age category is defined by the average age of its two members on the competition day.
What weight standards apply to mixed teams?
Mixed teams are required to perform all exercises at the male weight.
Are there any other differences between the teams and the individual event?
For the teams, the final calorie target on the air bike is set at 60 calories, as opposed to 30 calories in the individual event.
Who can participate in the Virtus Series?
The Virtus Series is open to all fitness levels and age groups from 16 years up. Further to the age-groupins, we also have a pairs event that include Same Gender and Mixed Gender teams.

However, you need to ensure you have sufficient recovery time and are physically prepared for the demands of multiple races. Each division requires a separate registration and payment.

What if I can't finish?

Every step, every rep, every moment you keep pushing counts as success. Every race you run lays the foundation for future success, offering insights into areas you can work on to come back stronger and faster in the future. So take heart, every attempt is progress, and every finish, no matter the time, is a victory.
